FES 3833 - Emerging Issues in Environmental Disaster Management |
(3) (B.A.S.). This course will provide the student with an overview of society’s need for planning for disastrous situations. The lessons will discuss the best practice and proper methodologies required when preparing for or preventing disaster in land for farming or construction. The course will also focus on mitigation measures which are required to reduce risk from natural and technological hazards. In addition, the course will provide the student with an understanding of interagency cooperation between emergency responders such as fire departments, police departments, and emergency medical personnel and the emergency manager to prevent or reduce injury and damage from a disaster.
