(3) (B.S.) Pre-requisite: NUR 3805 or permission of BSN program director. The purpose of this course is to examine pharmacotherapeutic agents with an understanding of the basic principles of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacogenetics. Focus on natural medicines, such as herbs and supplements, will be addressed. Emphasis is on concepts of safe medication administration strategies to improve patient safety and quality outcomes with using legal-ethical principles and the evidence-based best practices.
