(3) (A.A.) Prerequisites: ENC 1101 and concurrent registration in or completion of ENC 1102 with a grade of "C" or better. This course meets the Area IV requirement for A.A./A..S. general education, and meets the 6,000 word Gordon Rule requirement. The semester begins with a study of the literature of native Americans and European explorers to literature of colonization, federalization transcendentalism, selections from the western canon, and the development of major American literature to 1865.
