How Children Learn Math - 11179 - MAE 3312 - L02
Prerequisites: MAE 3310 This course is designed for future teachers of K-6 mathematics. The purpose of the course is to equip candidates with the mathematical knowledge for teaching that is necessary to effectively teach challenging topics in the K-6 curriculum. The course focuses on matters of specialized content knowledge to answer deeper why questions in mathematics that are applicable to current mathematics standards. It also applies knowledge of content and developmental appropriateness to how children think and apply mathematical concepts. This course has a 20-hour field experience.
