(3) (A.A.). This course meets Area IV requirements of the A.A./A.S. general education requirements. This course is a basic introduction to the study of the Humanities intended to establish or broaden an appreciation of the arts. The course surveys the development, function, and influences of the various humanistic disciplines as they are expressed in different cultures across time through a chronological and interdisciplinary approach. The primary humanistic disciplines explored in the course include the visual arts, literature, performing arts, philosophy, history, and mythology/religion.
