EPI 0950 Classroom Field Experience (3) (I.C) 60 contact hours. This course addresses the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices Competency areas of Instructional Design and Lesson Planning, The Learning Environment, Instructional Delivery and Facilitation, Assessment, Continuous Professional Improvement, Professional Responsibility and Ethical Conduct. During this course students will complete a minimum of 60 hours of observing and teaching in a K-12 setting. Participants will complete a series of experiences designed to give prospective teachers a perspective on the varied backgrounds of students in public, charter, or accredited private schools. These experiences as they relate to content knowledge of diversity and interactions in the schools will be discussed. Topics of multimedia applications in education including application and presentation software will be covered. The course will assist teachers in developing attitudes, skills and knowledge which will enable them to identify students who are Limited English Proficient (LEP) and to provide and justify effective instruction for LEP students.
