(6) (A.S.) Six hours class and nine hours laboratory per week for 11 weeks. Prerequisites: PHT 1007C and PHT 1124C, and BSC 2086C with a grade of "C" or better. Corequisites: PHT 1800L and PHT 2337C. The didactic portion of this course emphasizes rehabilitation as it relates to orthopedic diagnoses, disabilities and surgeries. Specific principles which guide the use of therapeutic modalities,such as heat, cold, sound, therapeutic electrical stimulation and traction are discussed and practiced in the laboratory. Students will study various types and models of equipment and the rationale for its use. Additional special fees are required.
