EEX 4603 - Behavior Management in the Preschool & Field Experience |
(3) (B.S.). Students will develop skills and competencies needed for classroom management and child guidance and the ability to communicate expectations for behavior to children, parents, and others in the school community. This course addresses methods and strategies to assist young children in developing pro-social skills in a developmentally appropriate program that creates a positive and caring environment for young children. Field experience required. Students will be provided information on the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices, Sunshine State Standards and the Professional Educator Competencies. Students are required to complete a minimum of 15 hours of field-based experience (during the term in which the course is taken) with preschoolers, children and/or youth in schools or similar professional educational settings. (This field component must be via virtual modes of film or Internet.)
