Introduction to Eastern Philosophy (3) (AA) Three hours lecture per week. Prerequisite: ENC 1101 with a grade of ¿C¿ or better. Requirements met: General Education Area IV requirements for the A.A./A.A.S/A.S., Humanities Area IV C requirement for A.A., international/intercultural requirement, and Gordon Rule requirement. This course surveys the philosophical developments and thoughts of Asia, including Hindu/Indian philosophy, Buddhist philosophy, Confucian philosophy, and Taoist philosophy. An emphasis is placed on understanding the interaction among these philosophies. Comparison to the Western philosophical ideas will be made whenever possible.
