OTH 2420C - Occupational Therapy for the Physically Disabled |
Physical Rehabilitation in Occupational Therapy (3) (A.S.) Two hours lecture, three hours laboratory per week. Prerequisites: satisfactory completion of OTH 1001C, OTH 1014C, OTH 1114C, OTH 1520C, OTH 1410, OTH 1012C, and ENC 1101, and humanities elective. Corequisites: OTH 2261C, OTH 2300C and OTH 2802L and OTH 2933C. This course is designed to enable the student to understand common physical disabilities in the adult population. It will provide the student with an understanding of occupational therapy practice models, the role of the COTA, evaluations, treatment planning, intervention strategies and documentation used in physical disabilities with the adult population. The student will be able to apply occupational therapy interventions to address the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory and other aspects of performance in a variety of contexts and environments to support engagement in everyday life activities that affect health, well-being and quality of life.
