Learning Objectives: COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students learn how managers lead in a complex global environment where financial crises, explosive growth and business reinvention make daily headlines. You are encouraged to think about management of your workplace from a big-picture standpoint. Your instructor will challenge you to read and discuss stories from real leaders at familiar companies rather than a series of seemingly unrelated, isolated topics. To gain a better understanding of management as a whole, concepts such as planning, organizing, leading and controlling are viewed as interconnected ideas. Class discussions focus on how to immediately apply the knowledge, theories and concepts to your life in the workplace, organizations and the community.
ONLINE WEEKLY TESTS help you to examine the textbook topics. ONLINE VIDEO STORIES about real companies and workplace problems/opportunities will be examined by student teams. STUDENT TEAMS then present their findings to the class and instructor. ONLINE BUSINESS SIMULATIONS AND "BUSINESS GAMES" will challenge your concepts of "What's the Right Thing To Do?"
