Levels: Credit Bradenton Campus Traditional Schedule Type Traditional Method Instructional Method Learning Objectives: Course Description (2) (AA) One hour per week. One-on-one instruction designed to develop fundamentals ofreading music, technical skills and performance of elementary-level classical music. Includes study of scales, chords and arpeggbs. Final examination consists of prepared program of technique and literature performed forthe instructor. Additional special fees are required. Midterm exam will take place the 2nd week of March, details forthcoming. Required Materials: These are lifelong resources for horn players, and as such, these are used extoisively in conservatory horn programs, and horn studios in larger institutions. Method Books: Kopprasch Studies for Horn Book 1 and Book 2 Pottag Advanced Method Volume 2 G. Pares Daily Exercises and Scales Technical Requirements: Performance Standards At the successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Perform a solo composition from the standard classicalrepertoire at the elementary level. 2. Produce pitch with a tone quality idiomatic for the instrument. 3. Perform majorand minor scales (harmonic andmelodic forms). 4. Perform with efficient technique. 5. Maintain good posture and position while performing. 6. Maintain rhythmic and pitch accuracy while reading music. 7. Perform with good intonation. 8. Exhibit proper phrasing. 9. Perform with stylistic expression View Catalog Entry
